1. GILBERT FELLOWSHIP LECTURE - KEG DE SOUZA | FRI 11 OCT | SYDNEY COLLEGE OF THE ARTS
Hear Gilbert Bequest Fellow Keg de Souza speak about her practice and illustrious career at Sydney College of the Arts, Old Teachers' College. Keg de Souza is an artist of Goan ancestry who lives and works on unceded Gadigal land in Sydney. Architecturally trained, she creates social and spatial environments, making reference to her lived experiences of squatting and organising with projects that use plant and food politics, temporary architecture, publishing and radical pedagogy.
2. HAL WITNEY DURATIONAL PERFORMANCE | SAT 12 OCT | REDLEAF
Visit Woollahra Gallery from 7am – 7pm to experience artist-in-residence Hal Witney's durational performance. Throughout the day, audiences can witness Witney's empty studio walls and floors being transformed into a work of art and the studio a battleground of endurance. In this 12-hour continuous drawing session, Witney challenges himself to draw non-stop, confronting the ‘flames of uncertainty’ and insecurities within his practice.
