Takeo.K is a multi-disciplinary artist originally from Japan and currently based in Naarm. The 2021 release and the live-set recording under their ‘eletroconvulsoterapia’ moniker through the Boorloo label Midnight Elevator were the results of their experimentation with modular synthesizers and hardware, creating a left-field and deconstructed vision of dubstep, techno, and dancehall.

Their debut EP, released by the label Backtrack in 2023, marked a departure from darker industrial sounds to more sentimental and jittery blends of trip-hop, breakbeat, shoegaze — which have been featured in sets by the likes of pi pi pi boss Deep Creep and NTS resident Ian Kim Judd. Takeo continues to expand their discography with the self-released EP ‘時々•Far Away Dub’, Sydney-based Theory Therapy’s ‘Out of Season Vol. 3’, and the ‘Collage’ V/A compilation from the French label Second Ends Records.
