'Space As An Instrument' is tonight's playlist theme, taken from the title of Félicia Atkinson's new album. I’ve been really interested for some time in the ways different musicians use space – either the ways they fill it or conversely the ways they create a sense of spaciousness through sparseness. And I’m interested in that because whether it’s one approach or the other, often the outcome is the same in the types of music I play on this show – they create music that feels peaceful but also entrancing. So I’m going to play you music that responds to that.
